Our hair is one part of our body that defines our overall look. No matter how handsome or beautiful you maybe, once you got a bad hair day. But why do some individuals have beautiful hair with healthy hair growth, while others struggle to attain it?
Actually, there are a lot of factors that influence hair growth, general health and beauty. Our genes play an important role on the general appearance of our hair. Whether it’s straight, wavy or curly our genes dictate this. The food that we eat is also very important. Our hair is predominantly made of a protein called keratin and the hair producing cells found underneath each hair shaft produce about half an inch of hair each month. Now depending on an individual’s health hair can actually grow fast or even slower. This is the reason why we should stay healthy; eat foods rich in protein and other nutrients, exercise regularly and even getting enough sleep.
Vitamins are also good for hair. Vitamin B6 or Pantothenic acid is excellent when applied directly to the scalp and hair. This vitamin is easily absorbed in the scalp and rejuvenates the skin, it works great as a skin moisturizer. It also coats the hair and seals its surface, this makes the hair shaft strong and shiny.
Biotin is also excellent for hair. Also called Vitamin H where H in germany represents “Haar und Haut” or skin and hair. Biotin is needed for cell growth, the production of fatty acids and metabolism of fat and amino acids. Cosmetically is also recommended for straightening hair and nails.
