F.A.S.T Frequently Asked Questions

How fast does hair usually grow?
Generally scalp hair will grow faster for women where as body hair grows faster for men. The average scalp hair growth is approximately 1/2 inch per month.

How can you make your hair grow faster?
• Daily consumption of vitamins and minerals
• Regular MASSAGE of scalp
• Regular exercise (natural increase of healthy blood flow to scalp and body extremities)
• Regular cleansing/ maintenance of scalp and hair
• Use F.A.S.T shampoo and conditioner

Does hair grow faster in the summer or the winter?
Most people observe faster hair growth in the summer months. This is due to increased blood supply in a warmer environment than in a cold one and a supposition that the body genetically strives for maximum coverage to protect against the cold months ahead.

W hat vitamins are benficial to hair growth?
Specifically B family of vitamins, amino acids, biotin, magnesium, copper and vitamin E & A. Note: it is more beneficial to have a well rounded vitamin/mineral daily intake rather than ONLY several types of vitamins.

I chemically treat my hair, does this slow down my rate of hair growth?
This should not have any effect on the rate of growth, although a bad treatment (perm, color, etc.) may cause breakage and damage that would give the impression that growth has slowed.

Does diet effect how quickly/slowly hair grows?
Usually not. Only with very severe and/or extended omissions of various food groups would this occur.

Does smoking effect your hair growth rate?
It is generally thought that since regular or long term smoking has an effect of reducing blood flow (artierial constriction), that this can negatively effect the growth and appearance of hair and nails.
